Infant's brain development and children's needs to grow happy / healthy:

We know from the results of extensive studies over the past ten years, that a child’s first years of life are the most important years for brain development. The experiences children are exposed to create the first and the most important brain connections and will have crucial impact on their lives.

Babies have many needs: eating, sleeping, getting their diapers changed, etc. What is most important is care and love. They need our affection to know they are loved and welcome into this world. They cannot move and so the only way they can learn about our world is through us: our body, our heartbeat, our smell, our skin, etc. We keep babies close to us as long as they need it so they feel comfortable and loved.

Children need to interact with real objects. They need opportunities to repeat a skill until they master it. They need opportunities to learn how to solve problems by themselves. They need time to develop their own ideas, creativity, and imagination, etc. But the most important things children need are affection, acceptance, and approval of the people around them. It is a human need to be “accepted and loved.” Without this, self-esteem will be poor and so will their achievements in life.

The best way for children to learn is by playing and experimenting…!!

Our children need our love, our kisses, our hugs, our encouragement, and our time… Don’t let a single day go by without telling them how much you love them. This will give them self-assurance, and confidence in themselves, and they will learn to love those around them.

Children need time with their parents in order to grow-up happily and be healthy.

THE WAY THAT THEY INTERACT WITH THEIR PARENTS IS THE WAY THEY WILL INTERACT WITH THE WORLD AROUND THEM.

WORDS THAT HELP KIDS

I love you.
That is great!
Good job.
You look terrific!
What did you like best today?
You are very special.
I like your smile.
Let's talk about you.
I want to help you …
We are so proud of you.
I can see why you are angry.
Let's talk about it.
Believe in yourself as I believe in you.
Thank you for your help.
You are such a good worker.
You do that so well.
Don't give up.
You are so nice to be around today.
Just do the best you can.
You are going to be just fine.
How do you think we can fix this?
Give it your best …
You are what matters.
We can do it together.
You made me happy. I hope you made YOU happy.!!

The hearts of our children are sensitive… When you are comforting and teaching them, speak with kind words.
